This gite is different. It's completely detached and in its own grounds surrounded on three sides by forest, at the end of a country lane, very secluded, with no through access. There are wild boar, rabbits and foxes in quantity in all the local forests, and dozens of varieties of birds including hawks. Swallows, house - martins and swifts can be seen buzzing around in the summer months.

The cottage sleeps 5 and is fully equipped to a high standard with ample parking space. Nothing could be more peaceful or relaxing than sitting out in the conservatory, or wandering around the garden.

LOCATION

Set in the quiet Hamlet of Couroussaine, in central Brittany, it is just two miles from the small village of Guilliers, with all amenities, three bars, a renowned restaurant, small shops, butchers, breadshop and fuel. Ten miles from Ploermel, our main shopping town with all types of shops and supermarkets. Ploermel golf course is only ten minutes away. We have a splashpool, and we speak French, English and Italian.


Twelve miles from the picturesque medieval town of Josselin, with its 16th century chateau, on the banks of the river Oust on the Nante Brest canal. In this market town (Saturday mornings) the visitor will find a good range of shops which cater for all normal requirements and tourist information office.

There are nearby connections by both sea and air with the nearest airports being Dinard , Rennes and Brest. The port of St. Malo is only about one hours drive, enabling easy access from the U.K and Channel Islands, one and a half hours from Roscoff, two to three hours from Caen and about four hours from Cherbourg . We recommend that visitors have the use of a car to explore the area and travel to and from their arrival point. However, transport from the ports or airports can be arranged.

It is a perfectly situated base for touring Brittany with its historic chateaux, customs, Breton cuisine, craftshops, and beautiful coastline where there are many safe coves and beaches.




The area abounds with local crafts


The town of Vannes on the Golf du Morbihan is full of old world charm mixed with sailing and boating for those more energetic and is only 30 to 40 minutes drive away. There are lakes and fishing locally in the area and picnic sites, and walking and cycling is popular for those who enjoy the quiet life, with Route Verte, (cycling tracks).
