Five minutes drive away is the pretty mediaeval town of Dol de Bretagne, with its beautiful Cathedral, historic buildings, market and many shops and restaurants.
Dol is famous for having one of Brittany’s oldest houses, the "Maison des Petits Palets", which is steeped in memories of the Vikings who invaded the region many years ago.
The Cathedraloscope in Dol, the first discovery centre dedicated to cathedrals opened in 1999 and gives an enlightened view of 1,000 years of history during the building of the great cathedrals.
The cosmopolitan town of St Malo is within 15 minutes drive, making this an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful and historic area of Northern France.
A leisurely fifteen minutes drive brings you to Le Mont St. Michel, France’s second most popular tourist attraction after the Eiffel Tower.
Before climbing to the Abbey, why not visit La Mere Poulard, the world famous omelette restaurant, for a sight of the costumed kitchen staff in action, beating their eggs. (Gallettes Bretonnes are famous throughout the country and imitated on beaches in the South of France.) Then follow the narrow cobbled streets, lined with half timbered hotels, museums and souvenir shops, circling around the Abbey until you reach the Grand Stairway which takes you to the Abbey’s top level with its breathtaking views of the surrounding sea. It is worth waiting for the high tide to enjoy the spectacle of the sea rushing in to surround the Mont. Le Mont St Michel has the highest tides in Europe - a spectacular not to be missed!
For a more leisurely day, why not relax on one of Britanny’s many long, sandy beaches, which are only a short drive away.

About enquiring from this site . . .
Somewhere in the page above you'll find an "CLICK TO ENQUIRE" button or a straightforward email address on which to click. Enquiries go straight to the owner of the rental or property for sale . . . so if you are enquiring about more than one villa or apartment for sale or rent or generally about accommodation in the region, please send an enquiry individually relating to each property. Except for pages for a minority of clients, your enquiry is not going to a letting agency for all the properties in a region - you are booking direct with the owner . . . and for the reason below, we feel that you can have confidence in doing so.
A little about Latroba pages . . .
Qui la Cerca La Troba is the motto of the Latrobe family . . . and these pages are intended to help you to find easily what you seek . . .
As webmasters we are not acting as agents but are publishing what our clients have asked us to market for them.
During the course of working for our rental clients, we tend to get to know them quite well . . . and we only work for people who we can get along with, who we enjoy working for and who we can trust. We charge our clients partly on a commission basis . . . so we only work for good clients who provide a good service to their customers and have happy renters . . . such as yourself! For this reason we expect that you should have a good experience buying a property for sale or booking a holiday rental through our clients, and if you don't (very rare), we like to hear about it!
