The streets Victor
Massé and Rue des Martyrs are very
welcoming, typically Parisian and full of Paris history and entertainment.
There are many shops of all sorts, including the very typical high quality cheese, wine and bread shops that the city is well known for. There are also a number of restaurants, bistro, books etc. in the vicinity.
Should you care to spend your Paris vacations at Rue Victor Massé we suggest you look out for some of the local features. Many impressionist artists loved to live and work in this area.
The famous impressionist painter Degas had his last studio on this very street at number 37 on the fourth floor. Mary Cassatt and Renoir also worked here. I believe van Gogh worked/lived on the same street for a time. Toulouse-Lautrec had a studio in the nearby rue Frochot. Gustave Moreau's studio was on the nearby rue de la Rochefoucauld. Rue Laffitte was where Degas' principal dealers had their galleries. Here you would find paintings by Matisse and Picasso also. Wow.
The closest metro stops are Pigalle to the north and St. George to the south. Buses are numerous but the Louvre, Madeleine and Opera are easily reached on foot as are the famous department stores.
Paris
Gare- du- Nord is easily
reached within a few (3) tube stops but a taxi ride is easily affordable. There are a number of secure
car parks in the area making your paris vacations complete. More
