This pretty stone cottage is actually two terraced properties converted into one and is situated close to the Gironde estuary, in close proximity to vineyards, small farms, and fields of sunflowers, maize, and various grains. Sunflowers can be seen in abundance throughout the months of June and July, and September sees the harvesting of the grapes and grains.

Located in the small, picturesque, village of St Thomas de Conac in the South-West of France, "LE TOURNESOL" is conveniently located approximately 75 minutes drive from La Rochelle and 60 minutes from Bordeaux, which both offer airport facilities.

COTTAGE FOR RENT

The cottage has a small frontage which leads into the lounge, via double doors to the left, and also to the kitchen, via rustic shuttered double doors to the right, and where a BBQ is located.


To the rear of the large lounge which has a modern fireplace, a drinks bar and two further sofas; one of which opens into a double bed. To the side of the lounge is a doorway, which provides the only internal access between the two cottages, leading into the TV/family room which is complete with a second double sofa bed and tub chairs.


This room then leads through to the large kitchen which is fully equipped with cooker, hob, dishwasher and all cooking utensils and is complemented by a large farmhouse oak table which can comfortably seat up to 12 persons.


There is convenient parking for up to 2 vehicles.

RENTAL ACCOMMODATION - 10 adults

The accommodation within the property consists of three double bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities; the two others sharing access to a shower room/W.C. In addition to the 3 doubles, there is a small bedroom with short bunk beds, suitable for children. A third shower room/W.C. is located on the ground floor

GIRONDE TOURIST INFORMATION

The area is ideal for walking, jogging or cycling, alternatively, there are stables close by so you can enjoy the views from a different perspective.


Just 10 minutes away a camp-site offers an outdoor swimming pool and refreshments. If you prefer salt in your water, the award winning beaches and coves of Meschers, St Georges De Didonne, and Royan are less than 25 min away.


Take the children for a visit La Palmyre Zoo, Europe's largest private zoo; and whilst in Royan there is 'Les Jardins du Monde' which has one of the largest orchid greenhouses in the world. For the adults; Cognac is approximately 30 miles away, and well worth a visit to the houses of Remy Martin, Martel, Hennessy etc which all offer guided tours and tastings!



If you are looking for something less taxing then St Thomas de Conac village offers a bar/restaurant, bakery, butchers, Post office, tobacconist and hairdressers all within strolling distance. (For any other groceries you may require, there is a supermarket 15 minutes drive away).
