Lovely large, detached family house set in a peaceful, rural
location, within minutes of local amenities in the small towns of Brecy and
Mortain. The property is situated on the top of a hill and enjoys breathtaking
views of the undulating Normandy countryside. The views can be particularly
enjoyed from the balcony which adjoins the main bedroom. The property is bright
and welcoming with picture windows to optimise the views. It is fully and
comfortably furnished to a very high standard.

LOCAL AMENITIES
The hamlet of Le Mesnil-Rainfray is a short drive from the town of Brecy, where fresh bread and basic provisions are available.
Brecy has one or two small bars and restaurants and just outside Brecy is the restaurant Moulin St. Jean, renowned for its excellent cuisine.
The town of Mortain offers a wider range of restaurants and shops aswell as an outdoor swimming pool with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Mortain is also only a 10
minute drive from the house.
The ancient town of Villedieu-les-poeles, famous for its copper museum and bell foundry, is around fifteen minutes by car.
The cosmopolitan towns of Avranches and St Hilaire du Harcourt, with their many shops and vast choice of restaurants, are also only a fifteen minute drive away.
A leisurely half hour drive brings you to Le Mont St. Michel, France's second most popular tourist attraction after the Eiffel Tower.
Before climbing to the Abbey, why not visit La Mere Poulard, the world famous omelette restaurant, for a sight of the costumed kitchen staff in action, beating their eggs. (Gallettes Bretonnes are famous throughout the country and imitated on beaches in the South of France.) Then follow the narrow cobbled streets, lined with half timbered hotels, museums and souvenir shops, circling around the Abbey until you reach the Grand Stairway which takes you to the Abbey's top level with its breathtaking views of the surrounding sea. It is worth waiting for the high tide to enjoy the spectacle of the sea rushing in to surround the Mont. Le Mont St Michel has the highest tides in Europe - a spectacular not to be missed!
Other tourist attractions within easy travelling distance of the
property are the Bayeaux Tapestries, D-Day Landing Beaches, Monuments and
Cemeteries. The pretty fishing port of Honfleur, with its maze of cobbled,
pedestrian-only streets and excellent seafood restaurants, is a wonderful day
out. For a more leisurely day, why not visit the seaside resort of Granville and
relax on the long sandy beach or the quieter beaches of Jullouville and Carolles
(all around 40 minutes by car).
